It depends on the size of your enclosure. One 164-foot roll creates roughly a 40×40 foot area. Four rolls (656 feet) create an enclosure of about 160×160 feet — roughly 0.6 acres, enough for 500–1,000 broilers. Call us and we'll help you size it for your setup.

For 1–2 rolls of netting, a 0.5 joule solar energizer works well. For 2–4 rolls, step up to a 1.0 joule unit. For larger operations or permanent perimeters, use a 2.0+ joule AC energizer. Always oversize — a bigger energizer is cheap insurance. The Southeast's sunny climate makes solar an excellent choice year-round.

Yes. Electric poultry netting is the most effective portable predator deterrent available. At 4,000+ volts, one nose-contact shock is enough to keep coyotes away for weeks. The physical mesh also prevents them from pushing through. We recommend 42" height minimum for coyote areas.

That depends on your rotation schedule. Most pastured poultry producers move every 1–7 days. One person can take down and reset a 164-foot roll in about 10–15 minutes. In the Southeast, moving frequently also helps with vegetation management — grass doesn't have time to grow into the netting and ground out the charge.

Yes. Heavy rain can temporarily reduce voltage, but a properly sized energizer maintains effective deterrence. The Southeast's clay soil actually improves grounding when wet, which helps fence performance.

UV-stabilized netting lasts 5–8 years with proper care. All Kencove netting is UV-rated for Southern sun exposure. Store it out of direct sun when not in use, and inspect annually for wear.
